Diamond in the Rough

So in recent months, I've had it with vendors. Not any vendor in particular, just vendors in general. Nobody seems to want to deliver on their promises anymore. Things end up costing more, technical support doesn't respond to your requests, and products don't do what they're supposed to.

That's why I was so shocked to receive an email that was sent to me from Buy.com this morning. Just a little back story:

I had purchased some monitors for the office (3) from Buy.com back in December with the promise of a $100 manufacturer mail-in rebate on each. After completing the rebate forms, one month passes, then two, then three - and still nothing. Finally, the rebate processor says that they cannot provide a rebate, because the manufacturer is not providing them with the money. After several attempts to get ahold of the manufacturer directly, I finally resorted to asking Buy.com for assitance.

Two weeks later (today), I receive an email from Buy.com, apologizing for all of the problems that I had experienced with the rebate, and refunding me the full $100 for each monitor out of their own pocket.

And that's not the first time that I've received incredible customer service from them, either. They've been great about returns & exchanges, allowed me to cancel orders without any penalty, and been very easy to get ahold of for other questions or concerns.

So if you're looking for a vendor that actually still delivers on its promises, shop at Buy.com!
