Money that keeps on giving

So I went to Starbucks the other day (my at-home "barista" was out of town at an Illini game), and I noticed something that I've never noticed before. Perhaps I'm just turning into an uptight old fart, but it really bothered me - the cashier licked her fingers before counting out my change from the register. Gross! Now I'm in this akward position where I have to either touch this saliva-coated currency or make a big stink about it in front of the rest of the patrons.

But then it got me thinking - have you ever really thought about where that cash has been before it ended up in the register? It could have been in some little kids' mouth for all you know. You could be walking around with whooping cough germs in your pocket right now!

Yet another compelling case for credit cards. (oh, and I took the germy change, in case you're curious - money is money, after all).
